UCSB Library Self-Guided Tour

This guide has been optimized for use on a mobile device and is designed to introduce students to the services and spaces of the UCSB Library.

Library Offices

Turn south (left) as you come out of the elevators and you'll see a long hallway ending in the entrance to the Library Administration Offices.  Most of the space on this floor is used for library offices, conference rooms, or processing space (where books are kept before moving to their final place on the collections shelves). If you head south toward the back of the area you'll see the Mary Cheadle Conference Room. This floor is also where our catalogers work to put information about our collections into UC Library Search.

Hallway display of the UCSB Reads posters from 2013 - presentUCSB Reads

UCSB Reads is led by the UCSB Library with campus and community partners.  The posters in this hallway show our past UCSB Reads selections.  You may see the UCSB Reads book for this year discussed in your classes, advertised in connection with speakers on campus, and incorporated elsewhere into your academic life at UCSB. Follow posts marked #UCSBReads on social media, or refer to the library website.
