Music: Department Performance Recordings Access

Department Performance Recordings Access

  • Starting in September 2024, the Library will provide access to the Music Department’s recordings of student performances via the Aviary platform, part of the Library’s digital collections.

  • In order for your performance to be included, you (and all of your co-performers) will need to fill out this release form.

  • If you do not complete the form, your performance will not be added to the platform and you will not be able to access your performance.

  • The completed form will be emailed to you upon submission.

  • Recordings can be accessed at https://avcollections.library.ucsb.edu

  • From https://avcollections.library.ucsb.edu, you can search for your name in the search box, or go to the UCSB Music Department Recordings page.

  • If you’ve chosen to search, you’ll need to click on the result you’d like to view. If you’ve gone to the UCSB Department Recordings you will see that the performances are grouped by quarter and year, so you will need to click on the quarter and year of your performance. Then find your performance on the next page.

  • Once you’ve found your performance, you will be able to see the program by using the Supplemental Files tab on the right hand side of the page. If this is indeed the performance you’d like to listen to and/or download, you can click on the Request Access button.

  • You’ll follow the prompts, first logging in with your netid, or creating an account (if you already have an Aviary account you can also just login). Next you’ll fill out the Access Request and agree to the Access conditions.

a pop-up window is shown with options for requesting access. it lists the title of the item, a Request Categories field with a drop down menu, an open text field for entering the Reasons for Requesting Access, and Access conditions information that requires a click through agreement.

  • Once you’ve submitted the form, you’ll receive an email telling you that you have been granted access. You will need to be sure to login to listen to and/or download the performance.
  • If you have multiple performances, you will need to submit multiple requests.
