Digital Resources for Film & Media Studies: Books

About Books

This page presents resources for locating books that will be useful for your research in Film and Media Studies.  These are good places to learn what other scholars have already said about a topic, to identify potential primary sources for your review, and to locate gaps in scholarship where you can contribute to the ongoing conversation. To thoroughly research your topic, you will want to use a mix of sources including books, articles, media, and primary sources. Books are more comprehensive in their coverage than journal articles but take longer to publish and may not present the most current information on a topic.

Finding Books

Use UCSB Library Search to find materials available in the UCSB Library including books, e-books, and much more. The search box on the UCSB Library website directs you to the Simple Search for the UCSB Library Search tool. Typing one or more words into   this search box  will  return results that contain all of your specified terms.
