WorldCat Discovery @UCSB is a way to find books and other materials located in libraries outside the UC System.
The UCSB Library uses the Library of Congress Subject Classifications to arrange books on the shelves.
The main classification for Education is L, located on the sixth floor, Ocean side.
For a breakdown of the subclasses within L, see:
Books cataloged in the UCSB Library are assigned subject headings from the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH).
When you search by keyword in the UC Library Search, you search the subject headings along with the works from the books title and other terms in the record. So, knowing the subject headings that describe your topic can be helpful in finding the best books for your research.
One way of doing that is to do a search with your starting keywords. If you find a book or books that look relevant, click on the title and scroll down in the full record until you see the subject headings for it. These may provide additional terms you'd want to search to find more books like that one.
