This guide should get you started on your Spanish & Portuguese research. You'll probably also want to check the guides for Latin American & Iberian Studies, Lingusitics, Chicana/o Studies and other disciplines that intersect with your studies (Theater, Film & Media Studies, etc.). If you are having a difficult time with your research question you can make an appointment with me for a research consultation.
For those of you who've never had an appointment with me, here's what you can expect:
- We can go over your topic and see if there's a lot written about your topic (so you might have to narrow it), or see if there's not much written (so you might have to broaden your question).
- We can review basic-to-advanced search strategies and identify library resources that would be most helpful for your question.
- We can make sure you haven't missed critical sources for your topic.
- If you are doing more advanced research, I can help you set up citation management tools for your notes and citations.
I'm happy to help at any stage, however these sessions are more productive if you can let me know your present research questions and what you've done so far (search words, where you have searched, etc.) Let me know if I can help at firstname.lastname@example.org
