LAUC-SB has an Executive Board and three standing committees: the Committee on Appointments, Assignments, and Reassignments (CAAR), the Committee on Advancement and Promotion (CAP), and the Research and Professional Development (RPD) Committee.
The LAUC-SB Chair serves on the statewide LAUC Executive Board as the Santa Barbara division representative. LAUC-SB members also serve on the following statewide LAUC committees: Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Committee on Professional Governance (CPG), and Research and Professional Development Committee (RP&D). Additionally, LAUC-SB provides two non-voting representatives to the UC Santa Barbara Academic Senate and a representative to the Academic Senate Committee on Library & Instructional Resources (CLIIR).

The Committee on Appointments, Assignments, and Reassignments consists of an elected Chair and Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and sufficient members, confirmed by the Executive Board, to conduct the business of the committee. CAAR fulfills the mandate of the Academic Personnel Manual (APM) for a personnel committee to advise the Chancellor or designee on the appointment of persons to the librarian series at UCSB.
The Committee on Advancement and Promotion (CAP) consists of a Chair, Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, two Senior Members-at-Large, and two Junior Members-at-Large. All members of CAP are elected by the LAUC-SB membership. CAP fulfills the mandate of the Academic Personnel Manual (APM) for a personnel committee to advise the Chancellor or designee on the merit increases, promotions and career status actions for members of the librarian series.
The Research and Professional Development (RPD) Committee consists of an elected Chair and Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and sufficient members, confirmed by the Executive Board, to conduct the business of the committee. In addition, the LAUC-SB representative to the statewide Research and Professional Development (R&PD) Committee is a member of this committee, serving according to the statewide terms of office. RPD fulfills the mandate of the Academic Personnel Manual (APM) for a committee to advise the Chancellor or designee in research and professional development matters for members of the librarian series.
