Instructor Guide to the Makerspace

Allow your students to learn more about the Makerspace without leaving your Canvas classroom by embedding our Makerspace Guide for students into one of your modules. Students will find how to access the Makerspace, our equipment catalog, and our virtual tour.

How to embed our guide in Canvas:

1. Click the plus icon to add a new item to the module where you would like to add the guide.
2. From the drop-down, select External Tool.
3. Scroll down and select UCSB Library Research Guides.
4. Do not change the URL. You can change the page name to "Makerspace Guide" or however you would like to label it.
5. Click Add Item.
6. Once the item has been created, click on the UCSB Library Research Guide link in your Module.
7. From the Content Type drop-down, select Full LibGuide.
8. From the Guide drop-down, select Makerspace.
9. Click Embed Content.
10. Publish the page in Canvas so your students can access it.
