Asian American Studies at UCSB
UCSB has a rich history of activism, research, teaching, and community building around Asian American studies. The UCSB Library is also proud to be home to the Asian American Studies Collection, part of our larger Ethnic & Gender Studies Collection. These are part of a broader array of Asian American studies activity on campus.
- Department of Asian American StudiesAsian American Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara is an interdisciplinary department that offers a wide variety of intellectual ideas and approaches.
- Asian Resource CenterA program of UCSB Educational Opportunity Program, the mission of the Asian Resource Center (ARC) is to educate, promote, and encourage the interaction and dialogue among the diverse ethnic groups within the Asian American community at UCSB.
- The Asian/American Studies CollectiveHoused in the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center, the Asian/American Studies Collective aims to further the interdisciplinary study of the historical and contemporary experiences of racialized Asian populations in the US.
- Asian Pacific Islander Graduate Student Alliance (APIGSA)The Asian Pacific Islander Graduate Student Alliance (APIGSA) at UC Santa Barbara is an organization that strives to create and maintain spaces of support for graduate students of Asian panethnicity, while advocating for a more critically accurate representation of Asian American students.

We acknowledge that the lands this University was built upon were founded upon exclusions and erasures of many Indigenous peoples, including those on whose lands it is located, the villages and unceded territories of the Chumash people.
