The purpose of this guide is to provide information and tips for people who create and edit LibGuides for the UCSB Library.
NOTE: LibGuides is an ever-changing environment. Sometimes the interface changes. Please email me if these instructions do not match what you are seeing in LibGuides so that this resource is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
LibGuides is an easy-to-use, largely intuitive tool that empowers UCSB library employees to create content directly for library users. Follow the UCSB Library LibGuides Best Practices and Standards provided within this guide.

While you are empowered to create these guides you are still a representative of the UCSB Library. These guides are an official communication from the Library to the users and should be treated as such.
If you separate from the Library you are free to make copies of your guides to take with you to your new employer. However, the existing guide remains in our system and will be reassigned for continued maintenance and updates.
LibGuides is not to be used for personal websites or non-UCSB projects. Also, be aware that even private or unpublished guides may be viewed by other employees in the UCSB Library.
