companies within the US economy and within a particular industry. One of the best such
websites is the Newsweek Green Rankings. You can filter the Newsweek data by 20
industries (ranging from Aerospace to Vehicles).
Environmental research organizations such as Ceres, BSR (Business for Social
Responsibility), and the CDP often publish industry-level research reports and make their
publications available on-line.

The EPA has prepared what they call “Sector Notebooks” on the environmental
challenges faced by different industries. These notebooks are available on the EPA’s
website.
Toxic Release Inventory, an EPA database of toxic emission by facilities operating in the
US, is a useful source. The database can be queried to generate a report about the toxic
emissions of an entire industry.
