This guide is designed for Instruction Librarians at UCSB. In response to the Chancellor's guidelines to institute remote instruction for the Spring quarter 2020, the Library Instruction Team and the Teaching & Learning Department have constructed this resource to aid librarians in providing instructional support to students using online technologies both synchronously and asynchronously.
The guide includes recommendations for:
Recorded (Asynchronous) Lectures
Embedding Library Chat in GauchoSpace
Information Literacy Tutorials
This homepage also includes resources from across campus that can be used to help you teach online as well as information sources about how the campus is responding to COVID-19.
In response to COVID-19, we will not be offering face-to-face instruction sessions at this time. Librarians are available to provide online instructional support, in synchronous and asynchronous formats. To request online instruction from a librarian, please complete the Library Instruction Request Form a minimum of two weeks before your desired date of integration. A librarian will promptly contact you to review what can be made available to your class.
