U.S. Government Publications in the UCSB Library
UCSB is a selective depository for the United States Government. The Government Printing Office provides government information at no cost to designated depository libraries throughout the country. These libraries, in turn, provide local, no-fee access to government information in all formats in an impartial environment with professional assistance. Any member of the public may visit these depository libraries and use the Federal depository collections.
Most publications can be identified through our PEGASUS catalog. We have a large collection of technical reports: some can be accessed online, while many others are in the Government Information Center. Refer to the technical reports guide for more detailed information.
Information about the scope of the collection housed at UCSB is contained in the U.S. Federal Publications Collection Development Policy.
