Importing from SilverPlatter

Note: Use these instructions for the following databases with the Silver Platter platform:

Book Review Digest FIAF Affiliates Publications Essays & General Literature Index
Index Film Periodicals Index TV Periodicals List of Periodical Indexed
Treasures from the Film Archives     Film/TV Documents Collection     

 

Steps:

1. Search Database
2. Check the boxes next to the records you want to export.
3. Click on Save icon.  (looks like a floppy disk)
4. Depending on your database you will one of the following set of instructions:

  • I. If your screen is now titled Saved Records, follow these steps:
    • a. For Which records do you want to save?, select Marked
    • b. For Which Fields?, select Citation.
    • c. Click Save Records button.
    • d. Follow the directions Importing a Saved Text File.
      • For Import Option, select Other Filters, and then name of the database with SilverPlatter after it.
      • Double check your imported references.  Make changes as necessary.  SilverPlatter information will not appear correctly in EndNote. 
      • You will have to change reference type to Journal Article and copy & paste journal title, volume, pages from the Notes field to the proper fields. The Notes field might not be complete, if so you might need to go back to the database to complete the information in EndNote Web.
  • II. If your screen is now titled Save or Export Records, follow these steps:
    • a. For Options, select Export to ProCite, EndNote, or Reference Manager
    • b. Click Ok.
    • c. In the pop-up download window you will be given to options: Open with Web Export Helper (default) and Save File
      • Chose Open with Web Export Helper (default).
      • Double check your imported references
