Introduction

Note:  This section applies to Microsoft Word 2004 or 2008 (Mac) and 2003 or 2007 (Windows). If you using a different word processor see the Endnote Manual, Chapter 12.

The EndNote tool bar in MS Word:

The tool bar can look like this in MS Word 2003:

The buttons are (from left to right):

  • Go to Endnote,
  • Find Citation(s),
  • Formant Bibliography,
  • Insert Selected (Citations),
  • Edit Citation(s),
  • Insert Note,
  • Edit Library Reference(s),
  • Unformat Citation(s),
  • Remove Field Codes,
  • Export Traveling Library,
  • Find Figure,
  • Generate Figure List,
  • Cite While You Write Preferences,
  • Help.

If the tool bar is not automatically shown, under the View menu, select Toolbars, and click on EndNote X2. It looks like this:
