Exhibits of artists' books are being planned for the Three Millionth Volume Celebration:

  • Special Collections, 3rd Floor, Davidson Library
    This will feature items from the UCSB Arts Library & Special Collections
  • First Floor, Davidson Library & Arts Library
    This will feature items from current book arts students and UCSB alumni.


We are in the process of planning and confirming several events:
  • Library Public Celebration
    Nov. 9. Davidson & Arts Library
  • Artist's Presentation
    Nov. 10. State Street Room (UCEN) - 4-5pm
  • William Blake and William Morris: The British Roots of Artists' Books
    Nov. 18. Special Collections, 3rd Floor Davidson, 3-4pm

About The Celebration

November 8 - 10, 2010

The UCSB Library is proud to announce the addition of its three millionth volume. To commemorate this collection milestone, the Library is hosting a series of events exhibits, and activities to reflect on the historical impact of books and to explore their future.

The theme of our celebration is:

WHAT IS A BOOK? exploring the boundaries

We invite you to join us as we reflect on the value of books and information, and appreciate the richness of the UCSB Library collections.
