Importing from JSTOR

Note: Use these instructions for the JSTOR databases.

You will need to have a MyJSTOR account to do this option, if you plan to export more than one reference at a time.

Steps:

1. Search JSTOR.
2. If you are exporting only one citation,

  • a. click Export this Citation
  • b. Continue to step # 4 (Skip #3)

3. If you are exporting more than one citation,

  • You will need to have a MyJSTOR account to do this option.
  • a. Check the boxes next to the citations you want to export
  • b. Then click on Save Citation to select records. 
  • c. When you have saved the citations you want to export, click on the link Saved Citations in the upper left of the window or under MyJSTOR select Saved Citations..
  • d. Check the boxes next to the records you want to export.
  • e. Click Export Citations
  • f. Continue on to step #4.

4. Under Select one option:, click EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager (download RIS file)
5. In the pop-up download window you will be given to options: Open with Web Export Helper (default) and Save File

  • Chose Open with Web Export Helper (default).

6. Review the imported entries with the Preview tab to make sure they are correct.
