Working Modes (This section is copied from the EndNote “Getting Started Guide”)
Before you begin adding references to your library it is important to make sure you are in the correct working mode. You can choose from three different display modes: Integrated Library & Online Search Mode, Local Library Mode, or Online Search Mode. There are really two different workflows (online and local). Most of the instructions assume you are working in Integrated Mode, because it has all groups and commands available, and downloads online search results directly into your open library. However, you may want to work primarily in Local Library Mode, with Online Groups suppressed until you explicitly switch to Online Mode to download references into a temporary library.
To Changes Modes:
1. Find the toolbar above the Library Window.
2. Click on the button for the mode you want to work in. You will these button in the toolbar above the Library window.
